Committee’s are a very low time commitment—only about 3-4 hours per month! Committees are a great way to meet and connect with other members in GAPSS. Committee sign-ups are open from early-late September and are now closed for the 2025/26 academic year. Membership sign-ups are open all year!

Additional Committee Information

  • The Geography and Planning Students’ Society consists of three standing committees,

    • Academic Committee;

    • Events Committee; and

    • Media Committee.

    Each committee has its own unique responsibilities and opportunities for involvement. Committees are chaired by members of the Executive Committee, and memberships are open to all students who are interested.

  • The Executive Committee may establish ad-hoc committees to study a particular topic or work on a specific initiative or project. Ad-hoc Committees are expected to be short-term and will be dissolved at a designated time that does not exceed one year. Opportunities to be part of an ad-hoc committee may become available if such committees have been established and the Executive Committee deemed necessary to recruit members.
