GAPSS consists of four committees, each with their own unique responsibilities and opportunities for involvement. Committees are led by members of the Executive Team and open to all Human Geography & Planning (HGP) students. Committees are approximately a 5 hour/month commitment, with most of that time being for bi-weekly committee meetings. Committee chairs will work with interested individuals to set up a meeting time that works with everyone’s schedule.

Chaired by the VP Finance, the role of the Fundraising Committee is to brainstorm, plan, and host fundraisers throughout the year and seek other opportunities for funding such as grants and awards.
Co-chaired by the VP Planning and VP Human Geography, the Academic Committee will aim to strengthen and support students academically in the Planning and Human Geography programs.
Chaired by the VP Events, the Events Committee will plan and facilitate events for Human Geography and Planning students and others who are interested. Events may be social in nature, relate to professional development, or be fundraisers.
Co-chaired by the VP Internal and VP External, the Journal Committee works to compile student work for the Human Geography and Planning Student Journal. This year, the Journal will be undergoing a transition and you may see some changes. The Journal is issued once per regular year.
