This is the sandwich I eat when I want a sandwich that changes my life.
Tiramisu Bistro (12407 108 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 4G6) has quite a large range of what they offer! From their bakery, to their dine in iconic brunch restaurant, to their sandwich/wine/cheese bar. They also have another popular branch at Hawrelak Park: Lift Me Up on the Lake! Very elegant range. I’m sure that at least 50% of us have been to one of these at least once, so this piece may be more for myself than others. I didn’t even get a picture of inside the establishment, and that’s one of Tiramisu Bistro’s most striking features upon entering: the ambience! So I’m sorry about that, but this is how serious I am about sandwiches.
The location of this restaurant/bakery/bar is just along 124th, across from Helen Nolan Park with lots of parking adjacent to the building and in the residential area! How quaint is that! Personally, I think that it’s one of the most iconic businesses along the 124 Street corridor. Bubbles. (Picture of the facade below from Google Maps, for those unfamiliar!)
A fun detail that everyone’s always surprised about: drinking is permitted at the tables at Helen Nolan Park. Do with that information what you will. I may have pregamed here before, with a cinnamon bun to pair. It’s also quite serious about cinnamon buns here.
To (finally) cut to the chase, yes, it does cost around $20 a sandwich, but let me have this every now and then for convenience and ambience #SupportLocal. TLDR on sandwich: focaccia, prosciutto, stracciatella cheese, roasted tomatoes, fig spread, balsamic glaze, arugula, pine nuts, and some privacy. Everything here is perfect to me, never change. I love getting takeout here because I can just let it sit in my bag and I get to shake in excitement the whole day from the thought of a sandwich being in my bag. A reward, if you will!
